Agricultural Information Management Standards

AIMS (Agricultural Information Management Standards) is a web portal managed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). It disseminates standards and good practices in information management for the support of the right to food, sustainable agriculture and rural development. AIMS underpins CIARD (Coherence in Information for Agricultural Research for Development) the international initiative which seeks to improve information access and coherence in and between organizations.

AIMS supports the implementation of structured and linked information and knowledge by fostering a community of practice centered on the themes of interoperability, reusability and cooperation. It shares vocabularies, methodologies, tools and services in order to promote coherence in agricultural information.

The database of members of the AIMS communities of practice is shared with AgriVIVO (subject to each member's agreement).
