The Global Forum on Agricultural Research's s mission is to mobilize all stakeholders involved in agricultural research and innovation systems for development, and to catalyse actions towards to alleviate poverty, increase food security and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.

Over the years, several experts have subscribed to the EGFAR platfomr and registered for the GCARD conferences: the database of these experts is shared with AgriVIVO (subject to each member's agreement).

GFAR has initiated and leads the AgriVIVO project.
